She is a political scientist specializing in transitional justice and democratization. She teaches Political Science (Comparative Political Institutions and Democracy Studies) in the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs at Iscte – University of Lisbon. In 2018, she developed a comparative project on transitional justice worldwide, “Assessing and Explaining the Outcome of Transitional Justice in the World: a Typology”.  Among other things, she recently published the book “Dictatorship and Democracy, Legacies of Memory”, about 40 years of transitional justice and memory policies in Portugal.
