They do what institutions should do
On Wednesday, February 1st, at 5pm, there will be another session of the Seminar Social Movements and Political Action, with the theme “They do what institutions should do: militant solidarity toward migrants and refugees in border zones” and with the participation of Francesca Fortarezza, researcher from the Scuola Normale Superiore (Florence).
Francesca Fortarezza holds an MA in International Migration, with a specialization in migration and security studies, and an MA in International Studies, with a specialization in peace and conflict studies. In her current research she investigates the management of immigration in border areas, with a focus on the Balkan route and the Italian-Slovenian border, analyzing the dynamics and interactions that take place between institutional and social actors, specifically groups and movements that work with migrants and refugees.
Organized by Guya Accornero and Tiago Carvalho, the Seminar Social Movements and Political Action takes place monthly and promotes a multidisciplinary reflection on issues related to social movements and different forms of political action, discussing different perspectives, methodologies and approaches.
