Organized by Marina Costa Lobo and Ana Espirito-Santo, “O eleitorado português no século XXI” analyses the significant political changes resulting from the most recent election results, considering the emergence of new parties, the decline of other parties and changes in support for traditionally dominant parties.
To this end, the book makes a detailed assessment of electoral behavior in Portugal, based on a wide range of data from post-election surveys covering the years 2002 to 2022.
The publication thus seeks to answer three important questions: I) What explains abstention; II) What influences the way people vote; and III) Who are the voters for the different parties?
