Remembering André Freire, two years on

Today marks two years since the passing of André Freire (1961–2024), founder of the Observatory of Democracy and Political Representation.

Full Professor at Iscte and researcher at CIES-Iscte, André Freire made an unequivocal contribution to the development of Political Science in Portugal, particularly in the study of electoral behaviour, ideologies and political representation.

We remember his academic career and the legacy that continues to inspire the Observatory’s work.
