New coordinators for the Politics and Citizenship research group

The Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte) has announced new coordinators for two of its research groups, reinforcing its commitment to research excellence and to the analysis of emerging social issues.

The Politics and Citizenship research group is now coordinated by Guya Accornero, with Ana Espírito-Santo as co-coordinator. The group studies the interactions between civil society, political institutions and elites, analysing how these dynamics shape public policy and governance processes.

The group works closely with the Observatory of Democracy and Political Representation, a research unit that combines advanced methodologies with the study of key issues in contemporary democracy.

The Gender, Life Course and Health group is also under new coordination, led by Elsa Pegado and Magda Nico.
