Cycle of “Conversations about the future: The Future of New Social Movements”
Professors Donatella della Porta (Scuola Normale Superiore, Florence) and Guya Accornero (ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and deputy director of the ODRP) participate on Saturday (30/04) in the cycle of “Conversations about the future”, with the theme “the Future of the New Social Movements”. Moderated by Miguel Poiares Maduro, president of the Scientific Committee of the Future Forum, the event is organized by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in partnership with RTP3.
This is the sixth conference in the Conversations on the Future cycle, which regularly invites internationally recognized speakers to discuss key issues of our near future. It is noteworthy that the opinion defended by the guests can be read in the Gulbenkian Ideas.
Donatella della Porta is a professor of Political Science and Political Sociology at the Scuola Normale Superiore (Florence), whose area of research is social movements, corruption, political violence and public policy. Guya Accornero is Assistant Professor in Political Science at ISCTE-IUL, deputy director of the ODRP, her area of research is social movements, with special interest in political radicalization processes, the role of protest in political change, digital activism, gentrification and housing rights movements.
