
Presentation of the book “Executive-Legislative Relations in Parliamentary Systems”
On November 15 at 16:30, organised by the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance, the book “Executive-Legislative Relations in Parliamentary Systems” will be presented by the author Patrícia Calca, political scientist, researcher and professor at Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. The event will take place at the Ministry of Finance Library (Av. Infante D. Henrique, nº1C, Lisbon).
In this book, Patricia Calca investigates the type of legislation produced by the government, whether Decree Laws or Proposals to Parliament, and the relationship with the type of governing majority available in parliament, being a central aspect in decision-making for the realisation of public policies in Portugal.
The presentation will also include the participation of professors Alice Cunha (FCSH), Teresa Ruel (ISCSP) and João Carvalho (ISCTE) and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance, Dr Rogério Peixoto.
Patrícia Calca has a PhD in Political Science from the ICS-University of Lisbon and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Policy at Iscte. Her main research interests are: political institutions; Comparative Politics and Comparative Economic Policy; Legislative Behaviour and Decision Making; Public Policy Analysis; Political Accountability and Corruption.
