Climate Futures and Just Transformations: Agency and young people’s political imaginaries
On Wednesday, June 26, at 5 p.m., in a hybrid format, the seminar “Climate Futures and Just Transformations: Agency and young people’s political imaginaries” will take place, as part of the Seminar on Social Movements and Political Action cycle, with the participation of Tânia R. Santos (University of Minho), Dora Rabelo (CIS-Iscte), Daniela Ferreira da Silva (University of Minho), Mehmet Ali Üzelgün (CIES-Iscte) and Anabela Carvalho (University of Minho).
The seminar will discuss mobilizations against climate change, especially considering the agency and political imaginaries of young people, based on the mapping of existing collective action groups, the analysis of narratives and media discourses on the future of the climate and the analysis of young people’s actions.
Organized by Guya Accornero and Tiago Carvalho, the Social Movements and Political Action Seminar takes place monthly and promotes multidisciplinary reflection on issues related to social movements and different forms of political action, dialoguing different perspectives, methodologies and approaches.
