André Freire Memorial Lecture (1961-2024)
A pioneer of electoral studies in Portugal, André Freire was director of the Department of Political Science and of the undergraduate and doctoral programmes at Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon, and a researcher at CIES-Iscte.
He devoted his work to electoral attitudes and behaviour, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire those who study democracy and political representation.
This session seeks to honour that legacy. Ana Belchior and Filipa Raimundo will open and moderate the session, which will also feature a video greeting from Fabian Schmiedel, director of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Portugal.
The session will be followed by a port wine reception.
