Held at Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa  and organized by the Council for European Studies (CES), the 28th International Conference of Europeanists took place from June 29th to July 1st, with the theme The Environment of Democracy. 

The Lisbon edition marked the CES’ return to face-to-face meetings after three years, and was the first conference to focus on environmental issues. The organization of the conference itself also tried a “greener” way to conduct it, reducing plastic and paper waste and opting for more sustainable food models.
