In the same category, the book \u201cInvestiga\u00e7\u00e3o Sociol\u00f3gica em Portugal: Um Guia Hist\u00f3rico e Anal\u00edtico\u201d (Sociological Research in Portugal: A Historical and Analytical Guide) (Edi\u00e7\u00f5es Afrontamento, 2022), by Fernando Lu\u00eds Machado (CIES-Iscte), was also honored, while CIES-Iscte researchers Renato Miguel do Carmo and Maria Madalena d&#8217;Avelar were awarded in the scientific article category for their publication The weight of time and the unemployment experience: daily life and future prospects (Current Sociology, vol. 69(5), 2021).<\/p><p><span style=\"color: var(--the7-base-color); letter-spacing: var(--the7-base-letter-spacing); text-transform: var(--the7-base-text-transform); word-spacing: normal;\">Established in 2023 by Iscte &#8211; Instituto Universit\u00e1rio de Lisboa, the prize honors professor and researcher Jo\u00e3o Ferreira de Almeida and aims to award two books and two articles in sociology, authored individually or collectively, every two years. The prize also involves the Portuguese Sociology Association (APS), of which Jo\u00e3o Ferreira de Almeida was member no. 1 and its first
