The commentary will be held by Professor Jos\u00e9 Gomes Andr\u00e9, with the mediation by Professor Andr\u00e9 Freire, with this conference open to the public. This seminar will be focusing mainly on the current political situation in the USA.<br \/>Patrick Siegler-Lathrop is a professor and president of the American Club of Lisbon, worked for 10 years as a visiting professor at INSEAD and the Dauphine University of Paris, and also taught at the Cat\u00f3lica School of Business &amp; Economics in Lisbon. His book explains, in simple terms, the complicated US presidential and congressional electoral systems.<br \/>Jos\u00e9 Gomes Andr\u00e9 holds a PhD in Political Philosophy from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, where he is a visiting professor, teaching courses in the areas of Political Philosophy, History of Contemporary Ideas, and European Studies. He is the author of several articles on American Federalism and Political Philosophy.<br \/>Organized by the Observatory of Democracy and Political Representation, the seminar &#8220;Rendez Vous with America &#8211; the US electoral system&#8221; has the institutional support of CIES-Iscte &#8211; Center for Research and Studies in Sociology, as well as of the masters and doctoral programs in Political Science and the doctoral program in International Relations of Iscte &#8211; Instituto Universit\u00e1rio de Lisboa.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
