“Primary elections and the US political system” is the subject of a debate held by the PhD in Political Science, specializing in international relations, at Iscte – Instituto Universit\u00e1rio de Lisboa, on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 6pm.<\/p>\n
With the participation of Jos\u00e9 Gomes Andr\u00e9, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, and moderation by Andr\u00e9 Freire, Full Professor at Iscte and Integrated Researcher at CIES-Iscte, the event is organized by CIES-Iscte in partnership with CEI-Iscte and the Observatory of Democracy and Political Representation.<\/p>\n
Jos\u00e9 Gomes Andr\u00e9, as well as being a Professor at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, is the author of several articles on federalism, in particular “The North American Political and Electoral System: a Roadmap” (included in “The Return of America”, by Viriato Soromenho-Marques, Esfera do Caos, 2008) and comments on issues related to the United States of America for the media. He is also the author of the book Reason and Liberty: The Political Thought of James Madison.<\/p>\n
