On Wednesday, February 1st, at 5pm, there will be another session of the Seminar Social Movements and Political Action, with the theme “They do what institutions should do: militant solidarity toward migrants and refugees in border zones” and with the participation of Francesca Fortarezza, researcher from the Scuola Normale Superiore (Florence).<\/p>\n

Francesca Fortarezza holds an MA in International Migration, with a specialization in migration and security studies, and an MA in International Studies, with a specialization in peace and conflict studies. In her current research she investigates the management of immigration in border areas, with a focus on the Balkan route and the Italian-Slovenian border, analyzing the dynamics and interactions that take place between institutional and social actors, specifically groups and movements that work with migrants and refugees.<\/p>\n

Organized by Guya Accornero and Tiago Carvalho, the Seminar Social Movements and Political Action takes place monthly and promotes a multidisciplinary reflection on issues related to social movements and different forms of political action, discussing different perspectives, methodologies and approaches.<\/p>\n
