On February 7, 2023, at 3 pm, the presentation of the book “Governments’ Responses to the Covid-19 Pandemic in Europe” published by Routledge, will take place at the Auditorium Paquete de Oliveira, at Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.
The book brings together the conclusions of a study that analyzes the differences and similarities in the responses given by 31 European governments, including Portugal, in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, at a time when virtually all European countries were faced a common obstacle: the difficulty of managing the pandemic itself, including the acquisition and investment of medical and personal protection material.
The presentation of the book will be made by Patrícia Calca, a researcher integrated at CIES-Iscte and the presentation of the results on the responses of the countries of Southern Europe will have the online participation of the authors Kennet Lynggaard (Roskilde University), Mads Dagnis Jensen (Copenhagen Business School) and Michael Kluth (Roskilde University).
The Portuguese national response will be presented by João Carvalho, guest researcher at CIES-Iscte and author of the chapter entitled “Portugal: from exception to the epicenter”. Journalist Ricardo Alexandre (TSF) will provide general comments on the presentations made.
