The War in Ukraine, 2022
On Monday, November 21, the PhD in Political Science, with the support of CIES-Iscte, CEI-Iscte and the Observatory of Democracy and Political Representation (CIES-ODRP), holds the conference “A Guerra na Ucrânia, 2022: Narrativas justificativas, questões político-militares e suas consequências”, with the participation of Assistant Professor at Amsterdam University College, Daniel Pinéu.
Seeking to understand the different dimensions involving the conflict in Ukraine, the conference is structured around three main axes: the Russian geopolitical narrative and its historical framework; the military and legal issues surrounding Russian actions on the ground; and the effects of the war on Vladimir Putin’s regime in Russia and global realignments.
Professor at the Amsterdam University College, Daniel Pinéu teaches courses on violence and conflict, international crimes and international relations in theory and practice, being frequently invited by the Portuguese media to comment on terrorism and international conflicts, such as the war between Russia and Ukraine.
