Annual CESOP-Local Seminar for Sustainable Development “Democracy as the Axis of a Sustainable Future”
André Freire, professor and director of the Observatory of Democracy and Political Representation, will take part in the Round Table “Can Democracy Still Provide Answers for Sustainable Development?” on Wednesday (04/07), as part of the Annual CESOP-Local Seminar for Sustainable Development “Democracy as the Axis of a Sustainable Future”.
The Annual Meetings around the “Sustainable Territories Project” of the Portuguese Catholic University’s Municipal Observatory are a place for reflection and knowledge sharing on the aims of Sustainable Development, as well as an opportunity for meetings of excellence and understanding, and to celebrate the work carried out, in the area of instigation, with the Municipalities of the CESOP-Local Network.
The event, which features renowned names from the public sphere, will bring together experts, political scientists, representatives of organizational, associative and political power, to reflect on the importance of Democracy for Sustainable Development, and on the Role of Civil Society in the implementation of Local Sustainability, with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda in mind.
